Other Grange Activities

Granges have other activities besides those which are service and activism oriented…

While our major mission is to assist the small agricultural producer, there are other things this Grange does.  As a fraternal organization, you have a chance to better know other members than you would by joining most organizations—which means that you have a better chance of getting other members to assist you in your endeavor than you would other political, social, or service organizations.  We do a lot of intergroup activities as well.

The Lecturer is responsible for putting together programs which are both educational and entertaining.  Within the last couple of years, our programs have largely focused on topics of interest to small farm operators.

The set of activities are the yearly contests.  They are broken down into Lecturer’s contests, and CWA (Chairperson of Women’s Activities) contests.  There is more information in the State Grange program handbook, which is linked here.

Below is a brief summary of these contests.
